Forty years is a long time in the agency business, so when we came up on our fortieth year, we decided to celebrate. Challenge was, two other agencies in Portland – where we started and are headquartered – were also having their fortieth anniversaries.

Insight
Instead of competing for the limelight, we thought it was advantageous, not to mention unexpected, to shift it a year and celebrate our 40ish Anniversary. Being too busy to properly create the event also helped in the decision.
Our team of creative visionaries built a campaign built around the 70s. We created a family of 70s-era logos, created a 70s website with custom employee headshots, printed period-correct sleeved tee shirts, and of course, had a party. Invitations went out in the form of a popular 70s collector sticker packets.







Impact
It was a full team effort and embraced our belief that ideas can come from anywhere. The work was talked about and elevated the brand experience. The result was a very successful fiesta. Our Charlotte office came out to Portland and we were joined by countless former HMHers. Plus, we had a lot of fun doing it.
