Graphic Designer


Job Description:

The Graphic Designer works as a part of the creative team to create visual worlds in which clients’ stories, voices and businesses come to life. Our work is multi-disciplinary, stretching across brand development, marketing communications, business strategy, web/interactive design, digital product development, advertising campaigns, print, social, audio/video, and more. You understand how these disciplines work together on a holistic level and know how to inhabit the character of a brand, providing authentic, engaging solutions that achieve results. Strong digital experience preferred. Ability to work in motion and HTML5 encouraged.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides a design point of view and communicates it to creative team; creates multiple design solutions for a given project
  • Takes initiative on projects to over-deliver new and innovative solutions
  • Has superb visual and conceptual skills to solve problems and create novel solutions
  • Adheres to brand guidelines in ways that still push creative boundaries
  • Collaborates with design/creative directors to bring visual concepts to life with design. Works closely with production to stay on schedule and within budget
  • Should be comfortable presenting their work and design thinking internally, experience presenting to clients is a plus
  • Designs and executes branding, advertising campaigns, collateral, presentations, logos, asset kits/style guides, websites, banner ads, social posts, TV titles and motion graphic elements; creates design extensions for campaigns as requested
  • Maintains and follows best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of files
  • Has a never-ending desire to learn new techniques and technology to advance your craft
  • Prioritizes workflow effectively, deadline-oriented, can do attitude
  • When needed should be able to be independent and self governing to see projects through
  • Will be responsible for production work as well as design projects
  • Will be responsible for producing mechanicals consistently based on the creative concept and brand guidelines
  • Is expected to review prepress file specifications prior to producing files and to maintain consistent file preparation suitable for outputting by publications or vendors
  • Is expected to check artwork for completeness, assure adherence to standards and communicate as necessary to eliminate and prevent errors and problems

what we would like to see

  • 3-5+ years of design or similar experience required, agency experience preferred
  • While a BA/BFA/BS in Graphic Design is preferred, overall experience without a degree is considered
  • Expert-level knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Keynote, Powerpoint and XD. Interest or experience in Premier, After Effects and animation is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML5 would be considered an advantage
  • Uses various techniques including image search, digital photography, and image manipulation/retouching
  • Ability to use experience, resources, interact and collaborate with other departments within the agency to solve problems
  • Has a demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound creative, strategic and analytical thinking skills, while maintaining composure in stressful situations and tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, initiative and follow through skills
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively communicates, takes creative direction and works well in a team environment
